As i saw some vegetables near the basin today which my mother-in-law wants to cook for lunch today. I ask her what's the name of the vegetables and she says SPINACH. Then, i ask if there's another kind of SPINACH as i remembered SPINACH as another look.
She told me that SPINACH can't be consume straight as in just rinse and cooked with the other foods. I ask her why?? She says its stated in some scientific term that was brought up by some DJs through the radio stations that SPINACH will have to be boiled in boiling water drainned off then cook with other foods for consumption. Also, SPINACH can't be consume with TOFU at the same time as it will cause some reactions or something.
I never knew there was this saying... this knowledge...
15 July 08 - Broccoli Lesson
I've learnt that handling of the broccoli needs extra care as i'll need to soak them for a longer period of time than the other types of vegetables. As there're many little worms which you're not able to see with your bare eyes. Also, boil broccoli in a seperate pot before adding them to the children's rice of porridge to be consume together. As its easier for broccoli to be cooked whole than smaller pieces so i have to boil them before i cut the broccoli and add to cook with the porridge.
For a simple and healthy eating lifestyle, boil broccoli and cauliflower with a little oil, salt and sugar. When boil, drain the vegetables. Pour oyster sauce over the vegatables to mix before serve. As vegetables will produce water in awhile, naturally!! So no water is required to be added when mixing the pyster sauce.

Going thorugh En En's 1st words
In fact, going through the 1st words with En En is not so difficult.. I choose to interest her with flash cards of fruits and vegetables. I believe she'll be more interested to find out more about the stuff she eats and sees everyday than looking at alphabets which she has already learn to pronounce as she goes when she learns to pronounce the words.
Maybe i can recommend this to the parents... i read up the Shichida website 1 day since i was rather interested into putting En En into that learning school. So i came across reading an article whereby the Professor as interviewed said something like ' a childs' mind can only pay attention for up to 15mins' so i choose to go through with her the 1st 10 cards mixture of fruits and vegetables for only 15mins at 2 times of the day (before and after her afternoon nap) i think its working out. As it was just the 2nd day and En En is able to pronounce words starting with 'P' like Peach, Pear and Papaya but she doesn't really can say words like Kiwi and Spinach that well. However, she'll make an effort to at least respond like 'pi - nei' - 'Spinach' so i should consider En En as very good already. Her 2nd attempt facing brand her 1st pile of cards and she shows this results.
Also, i prefer buying flash cards which are white in th ebackground and the letter or object is in colours. I think in this way the child can be esily captivated by the colours. I watch the Tue, 10.30pm TV interview on parents whom have sen their children to the Shichida School (right-brain education) and shows good results and also the Shichida teachers have use cards similar to mine. So im motivated to start En En's 1st word since then...
Its really good for them to start learning young as they really absorb fast... Anyone should just try and see the results in 3 days.
*laughs* im as if selling hair shampoo....

Oh OOoo...
En En is down with a flu and cough again... Though i hear En En breathing loudly and hardly, she still put on a brave front for us. She plays and smiles as always... She does that most of the time and often telling you 'NO!' or 'Stop!' whenever anyone wants to lean on her. So cute rite... *laughs*
I guess she knows her mama is getting really tired having to stay up to check on her if she's breathing right and sleeping well... Like she often perspire till her pillow is wet so that's the reason i got 2 pillows for her to switch... *smiles*
Mama and Papa look forward to bring you to Genting Highlands for more fun... provided you'll feel better then... Mama wishes En En to get well soon!!!

Good News for En En
Still remember?? En En & i went on a holiday trip with Popo & Gong Gong. That trip Papa didn't tag along with us. I didn't quite find the trip enjoyable without Papa. I guess En En feels the same.
This time, Papa has agreed to go a a holiday trip to Genting Highlands with En En & I. Of course, Popo & Gong Gong will be going as Gong Gong will be driving all the way up!! Yeah... Hooray!! Finally, we get to travel overseas in a family, just the 3 of us. It feels really good!! Im looking forward to the holiday trip. Now that En En knows how to walk a little.. I think she enjoy this trip even more. With the cold breeze and having Papa and Mama with her. I can't deny she'll be very happy over there. But once again, i'll need to prepare the very important stuff for En En. Especially, bringing a child out and overseas is not a easy thing...
Let me make a list:
Her meals - milo cereal (coz she can't have her egg & bread for breakfast), instant porridge,
Her snacks - 2 kinds of biscuits and bread (at least she has a choice to choose from)
Her in case - medicine (in case she fall sick), mini Japanese instant noodles (it taste really yummy and it'll appetize a child with their cute fishcakes that comes in the picture of a dog, cat, pig and many more.)
Her spare - napkins, pampers (in case she shits twice a day then insufficient, they don't seem to have any shops selling groceries) ,
So much....
Other than this stuff, let me share something:
In fact, i brought her slow cooker with me the other time. To cook her porride and water for her drinking. Although there's tap along the corridor for you to get drinking water from i still didn't feel safe for her to drink that water directly. So i took water from the tap and boil in the slow cooker before letting her drink.
*laughs*
Hopefully, we go "shun shun" and come back "ping an".

Sweet Treatz
Sweet Treatz... This title came from the name of the blog 1 of my friend have whereby she post her bakes.
So i shall also post something i bake...
Ingredient:
3 blocks of PHILADEPHIA cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
24(2 dozen) oreo cookies
Coloured rice for garnish
24 mini oreo cookies for deco
In fact, you can retrieve the recipe from http://www.kraft.com/ *smiles*
I do this baking for Stella's return from China. She was on a study trip to China (ZheJiang) for about 5months. But she doesn't sound much like studying. Rather shopping and bought lots of things for me and En En (her so-called daughter). She really dote on En En lots till i dare not even comment if En En would still remember Stella when she's back. Definitely not... Coz when she left she's still too young to learn about the adults or she really doesn't remember at all... *laughs*
Here's some pictures of the results of the no-bake oreo mini cheesecake:

Dinner Buffet - Copthorne Waterfront
Went out for dinner at Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. Not Copthorne King's Hotel!! Nice oysters, good salmon, tuna & mackerel sashimi, chefs' cut beef (taste almost like the beef i had in Lawry's the Prime Rib)!! But dessert is very bad - chocolate shooter is too bitter (too much dark chocolate), cream brule is too sour, cakes taste rather bad as well. So i only ate lots of sashimi, oysters and beef. *laughs* which i think is most worth it ! Base on the amount of sashimi, oysters and beef that i had consume, if im to consume that amount in Sakae Sushi, Lawry's the Prime Rib, its gonna cost me a bomb...
After that we even took some pics at the lift lobby of Copthorne Waterfront Hotel but forgot to take the picture of the big ball (Fengshui Crystal Ball).
They just simply enjoy their mashmallows !! Yeah~!!
